KIA ORA E TE IWI, DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND THIS WĀNANGA IS NOW AT FULL CAPACITY AND REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

Hawaiki Kura is excited to present the PITO MATA Raumati (summer) 2023 wānanga,

This is a fun, interactive and innovative wānanga for all rangatahi aged 12 - 18 living in Te Tauihu (and Te Waipounamu)

The purpose of Pito Mata is to provide a space for our rangatahi to strengthen their connection to te ao Māori and to learn different tikanga and te reo while visiting some beautiful places and having heaps of fun. We believe by doing this their resilience and confidence will grow and develop. Another big component of Pito Mata is developing positive relationships with other rangatahi.

This wānanga is organised and tutored by the Hawaiki Kura whānau including Te Ao Mārama (16), Māreikura (12) and Pāpa K Nepia, it is also supported by our ropu mātua, parent support group. Hawaiki Kura specialises in delivering wānanga and has been facilitating wānanga for over 15 years.

This wānanga is set in the beautiful Mistletoe Bay with graduation back at Waikawa Marae.
